Technical Information : Inflation

Which inflator is recommended for my ball or tube?

We recommend Omnikin inflators for your balls. You will get an ideal pressure and maximize the durability of your bladder. Our inflators have the right adaptors and power to inflate all of our balls. Ensure the inflation device is clean and does not blow dust inside your ball.

Here are the inflation devices recommended for each type of bladder:

Balls with athletic valve (all Omnikin balls of 24″ and below)

Balls with regular valve (all Omnikin balls of 33″ and more) and tube

How do I inflate my ball with an athletic valve bladder?

  1. Roll up the inner latex bladder, starting at the tips, and placing the valve at the top.
  2. Insert the rolled latex bladder into the cover, keeping the bladder valve aligned with the cover’s opening.
  3. Use the small adapter of the Omnikin inflator or the needle adapter of your pump. Insert the adaptor deeply into the valve of the bladder.
  4. Continue inflation until there are no more creases on the nylon cover.

How do I inflate my ball with a regular bladder?

  1. Insert the inner latex bladder into the nylon cover leaving the neck out. Place the bladder’s neck around the inflating device and hold firmly.
  2. Before inflating the ball, make sure that the fabric flaps of the opening are properly unfolded.
  3. Inject air into the bladder until there are no more creases on the nylon cover.
  4. Once inflated, twist the bladder’s neck at least three times on itself.
  5. Optional: Fold the string in two and tie it around the neck by passing the two ends through the small loop formed. Pull firmly on the string and wrap it around the bladder’s neck.
  6. Insert the neck into the nylon cover flaps.

How do I inflate my ball with TPU bladder?

  1. Insert the inner bladder into the nylon cover, leaving the neck out.
  2. Place the bladder’s neck around the inflating device and hold firmly.
  3. Before inflating the ball, make sure that the fabric flaps of the opening are properly unfolded.
  4. Inject air into the bladder until there are no more creases on the nylon cover.
  5. Once inflated, twist the bladder’s neck at least three times on itself.
  6. Insert the neck into the nylon cover flaps.

How do I inflate my tube?

  1. Insert the adaptor of the electric pump inside the big valve.
  2. Inject air into the tube until there are no more creases on the tube. Close the big valve.
  3. Use the small no air leak valve to finish inflation properly if required.

How do I inflate/deflate my TPU ball?

  1. Use the small adapter of the Omnikin inflator. Insert the adaptor deeply into the valve of the ball.
  2. Continue inflation until there are no more creases on the ball. Then, quickly remove the adaptor and close the valve of the ball.
  3. To deflate the ball, open the valve and insert the small pump adaptor inside the valve. The ball will slowly deflate.

What is the recommended internal pressure?

We recommend stopping inflation when there are no creases on the ball cover (corners). If your inflation device has a pressure gauge, it must be between 1.5 to 2 PSI. Omnikin electric inflators do not exceed the maximum recommended.

Troubleshooting

My ball with a regular bladder does not inflate. Why?

If the bladder does not inflate, the power of your electric inflator is probably too low. The inflation device must be at least 1hp (horsepower).

See the inflation instruction for this kind of ball for more information.

How do I maintain the air inside my ball (regular bladder)?

When the ball is fully inflated, it is important to make at least 3 turns to the ball while holding the “neck” of the bladder. When inserted into the ball cover, the pressure of the ball is enough to hermetically close the bladder. If needed, roll up the string enclosed (or a shoelace) around the neck before putting it into the ball cover.

See the inflation instruction for this kind of ball for more information.

My ball with an athletic valve bladder does not inflate. Why?

First, make sure to insert the small adapter deeply enough. Do not hesitate to push hard, you will not break the valve (except if you use an oversized adapter that is not an Omnikin product).

See the inflation instruction for this kind of ball for more information.

My bladder is smaller than the ball cover and does not fill the space. Why?

The bladder included is rarely of the wrong size; the sticker indicates the size of your bladder on the package. Most of the time, people stop inflation because they are afraid of bursting, which does not happen: in the case of regular bladders, bladders can expand 1.5 times the size of their ball cover. Moreover, if a bladder bursts after you inflate it the first time, it will be replaced under warranty.

See the inflation instruction for more information.

Technical Information : Deflation

My ball has an athletic valve. How do I deflate it?

You must insert the small adapter used to inflate the ball. Without connecting it to the inflator, some air will leak during installation.

The HT358 inflator has two functions, one that inflates and one that deflates. So, you can use this inflator to deflate the ball.

My ball has an athletic valve bladder that is no longer aligned with the opening of the ball cover. How do I re-inflate/deflate it?

If your ball is deflated but not enough to turn the bladder with fingers inside the cover, expose it to cold (cold water, outdoors) to soften it more until you can turn it inside its cover. Omnikin balls are sensitive to temperature changes.
