New partnership with Motor Skill Learning: Tackling the challenges of early years PE
If you’ve ever walked into a gym with a group of 4-year-olds and thought, Now what?, you’re not alone.
Early years PE is one of the biggest blind spots in our industry.
There’s no shortage of drills for older students. No shortage of competition formats, skill breakdowns, and assessment grids. But for ages 3 to 7? Teachers are often left piecing things together on their own.
Too simple, and the kids lose interest.
Too complex, and attention drifts.
Not enough variety, and engagement drops fast.
That gap is real. And it’s frustrating.
Discovering a different approach with Motor Skill Learning Academy
The first time we experienced a Motor Skill Learning Academy conference, something felt different.
There were no long lectures. No passive note-taking. From the first minute, teachers were on the move. Testing games. Feeling progressions in their own bodies. Learning by doing.
It was practical. Structured. Intentional.
Motor Skill Learning focuses entirely on early years physical education (ages 3 to 7), building strong motor foundations through carefully designed game concepts and activity progressions.
After attending conferences in Switzerland and Dubai, one thing became obvious.
The demand for high-quality early years PE content is huge. And it’s only growing.
Why this partnership makes sense
At Omnikin, we’ve always believed that movement should be inclusive, accessible, and joyful from the very beginning.
But here’s something we’ve learned over time: our equipment is often even more powerful with younger children than people expect.
Oversized balls. Cooperative play. Immediate success. Less intimidation. More participation.
When we saw how Motor Skill Learning structures their sessions, such as maximizing time on task, building implicit learning, and layering progressions, we realized how naturally our approaches align.
Opening new doors
The academy’s teachings are not theoretical.
We’ve seen it in action. We’ve felt the momentum in packed training rooms. We’ve watched teachers leave energized instead of overwhelmed.
Motor Skill Learning Academy is hosting an Early Years PE Teacher Training in the United States in May 2026. It’s another opportunity to deepen the collaboration and continue building something meaningful.
Internally, our president described this partnership as a “9 out of 10.”
That says a lot.
Because in this space, real alignment is rare.
For us, this feels like the beginning of something important…not just for Omnikin, not just for Motor Skill Learning…but for the early years teachers who have been needing better support for a long time.
